Nerdlesque - Burlesque For NERDS? Really?

Nerdlesque - We are starting to see it more and more, a form of amusement going through a wonderful rebirth : burlesque. It's taking the stage once again with its evening gloves, swirling tassles, and sequins all entwined in a seductive dance.
Burlesque seems to be regaining the celebrity it once had in the early 1900s, and we find this really exciting! Most particularly after seeing one of its new offspring called "Nerdlesque," bringing out the sex appeal of nerd culture.
We went with their show on Saturday night, February 4th. http://isitdownforjustme.appspot.com/?url=videonudist.com appears to hide on the block, as there are no lights or huge signs to recognize it.
I could barely make out the words Brick Theater on a small plaque before heading through the first door. We waited patiently with a small bunch, standing in the limited space between the ticket desk and the entrance.
Several minutes later we entered and sat down. It was small with an intimate distance between the seats and stage, but still an expert setup.
By showtime it was packaged, and people were sitting on the ground. Hosts Makin' Whoopee and Dick E. Lovejoy started and hosted the show. These two did a comical act that I think was referencing World of Warcraft (or another computer game that I'm not nerdy enough to understand.)
The acts to follow were exceptional, with subtle, playful comedy and various characters. My favorite was Iris Explosion as The Flash. At the center of the show they asked for two volunteers to go on stage and play a trivia game.
For each question answered correctly, two performers, one on each side, would take off an item of clothing. They asked a group of questions I could not have replied, even if I 'd examined beforehand, but the players successfully got some clothes removed. It was a fun little interlude in the show.
As a side note, part of what I believe is burlesque's new allure is that the women are all different shapes and sizes, just like real life.
Many have curvy and voluptuous figures, and it is nearly enviable, how comfortable they are with their bodies.

As much as we loved these performances, we were really anticipating the after-party and its assurance ofget ready for itstrip board games!! On the program for that night: strip Operation and strip Apples to Apples ! When the show was over the audience members were encouraged to remain for drinks and games. A table was set up for Operation, and us, combined with the 10 other participants, formed teams on each side. The rules that night were if someone buzzed the nose, each member of their team had to remove clothing.
To include a bit intensity, there were also challenge cards to decide, such as the speed challenge to operate in 5 seconds. Operation hasn't been so thrilling, and the night flew by with a rowdy, nude great time! Lastly, just thought I'd share a conversation I had with a player next in my experience during the game, as I was speaking to him about naturism. Him : Are all of these people naturists? (Yes, we're EVERYWHERE.)
Me : No, only me and him and those couple of people over there.
Him : So you guys like have orgies?
Me : No, we only hang out nude, have indoor and outdoor events, bashes..Folks who do the social sexual items are called swingers.

Firstly, I believe being a naturist/naturist is a self-diagnosed illness. There isn't any exact check-list of traits, and I can not describe anyone else that way unless (s)he makes it clear. Not too several years past, any American who got naked for anything aside from sex or showers would happen to be considered a nudist. (For simplicity, I am sticking to Americans.) but neither they nor I would necessarily consider them naturists/naturists - they're simply comfortable being naked with other nude people when that is what the occasional situation calls for. (Most Europeans would consider a absolutely ordinary and healthful attitude, not deserving of any label. I do also.)

I consider myself a naturist/naturist because the ability to be clothing-free, sky-clad, nude, is significant if you ask me. It does not interfere with the fabric sections of my life, but being a nudist/naturist is on the list of characteristics with which I 'd describe who I am. There is also been lots of discussion around the use of the word "recreation." For some, sex is recreational so how does that impact the term "nude recreation"? I believe the question we actually must grapple with is what defines a danger to the community aside from bad behaviour in one's presence and maybe that even changes with the local community. We can likely all agree that the pedophile signifies a genuine danger, but other characteristics can differ significantly in terms of "danger factor" depending on the common views of the community (as I know FKK is painfully aware of).
These problems are not unique to the nudist community, but are universal social issues which brings us full circle to the thought that nudists are just like everybody else, except they often prefer to be without clothes. Probably not, but hopefully it's food for thought.

The Naturist Action Committee & Naturist Education Foundation

At the June 14-17, 1990 FKK Eastern Assembly, once again in Pennsylvania, FKK finally determined to press its members into forming a dynamic, successful political action group of their own. By 1990 FKK had enough members, enough esteem among the naturist and non-naturist communities, enough useful ties with other naturist organizations, enough experienced and battle-seasoned leaders, and a journal of adequate and consistent quality to take on the task of forming--finally--a model naturist action group. Responding in part to Steiger's comments, FKK chose the summer to determine how best to organize this fresh group. In a second Eastern party that year, held at Camp Akiba in Pennsylvania on August 16-19, 1990, FKK officially formed the Naturist Action Committee. A Board of Directors pro term was selected with Toni Egbert as Chair. NAC was to be known as the political arm of FKK, but retain enough autonomy to go in the ways the elected committee wished. Lee Baxandall would serve in a largely advisory capacity as a permanent but non-voting member. The board was set up to be democratically elected by and from the FKK membership, with each FKK members getting one equal vote, Any certified FKK member may run for one of the nine board positions, and stand for re-election after three years. FKK' magazine was designated the official organ of NAC. NAC's stated goals were threefold: legal action, lobbying, and public relations. Catholicism and Nudism - What does the Catholic Church Believe?

Issues Pertaining to Catholicism and Nudism:
Current thinking within the Roman Catholic Church opposes the practice of nudism or naturism, as some practitioners prefer to call it, finding the practice in battle with among the crucial principles of Catholicism, modesty. The Church follows this value back to a string twelve desirable character traits listed in the biblical Book of Galatians.
Modesty is viewed as a form of self-respect and esteem for others with nudism a direct contradiction to these principles. The importance of clothing also can be traced back to the biblical creation myth wherein God clothed Adam and Eve, the progenitors of humanity in this tradition, after they got knowledge of good and evil through disobedience. The underlying principle here is that nudity is considered bad.
Historically, Catholic toleration for nudity of any sort has grown and waned. During the Renaissance Age, best remembered for the works of artists like Michelangelo, works of art and statuary depicting unclothed figures sometimes drew criticism from the Church hierarchy.
The Pope desired to see the pictures stripped completely; however, only several pictures were changed in later years to hide nude pictures in accordance with an official measure, associated with the Council of Trent in 1563, condemning the usage of nudity in religious art.
Nowadays, the Sistine Chapel is among the most visited and revered areas open to public viewing via the Vatican Museums. The artistic nudity depicted here is no longer a point of major contention. The museum, like the chapel, have become a source of revenue and positive public relations for the Church.

Many European and westernized societies now support naturism within families and socially as part of their health and recreational practices. A few of these European and westernized naturist encouraging societies may also be represented by well-recognized naturist organizations like the International Naturist Federation (INF-FNI), and the American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR).
It is no accident that some of the most successful, productive, and creative markets in the world today have well established naturist traditions and practices. It's my belief that entrenched socioeconomic engineering powers within the global power structure still regard the advantages of naturism as a threat to their own continuing covert domination of the greater society.

The Issues with Facebook Censorship
Facebook Censorship - In honor of its 10th anniversary in 2013, Facebook added a feature where users could create a clip slideshow of the photos and posts from their timeline (profile), beginning from when they joined. The resulting videos are sappy productions that remind us all how (too) much of our lives are documented via Facebook.
Beheading videos get to stay, but THIS gets censored?
So, having a like-hate relationship with Facebook, I determined to create a parody. There were already quite several of these parodies popping upbible fashion, Walter White from Breaking Bad, solitude / game request parody etc. But mine had a different angle. I used it to protest my own endlessly disruptive dilemma with Facebookcensorship! The mp4 is a slideshow of some images that got me banned on the social network. https://www.qatar.vcu.edu/?URL=allnudism.xyz was also the best thing to represent my new project Shit That Got Me Prohibited (From Facebook) ( #STGMB ). I created the STGMB site for the purpose of sharing content and pictures that got me and others prohibited from Facebook, while also providing a platform for us all to rant about their draconian censorship policies.

Just a couple hours after I posted my Facebook Look Back clip on YouTube, it got taken down for violating their policy on nudity and sexuality. I suppose they have been truly as poor as Facebook! If you use YouTube at all, you'd see that it makes zero sense about them to censor this video. It is fairly ironic that they censored my demonstration of censorship, though I guess it helped establish my point. After all it wasn't censored for the graphic violence, was it? The gun and blood photo must've been A-OK with them.
